Short Bio

Phie Deal is an artist from the Greater Boston Area who specializes in ceramics and sculpture with additional interests in dance, photography, performance art, and psychology. Having received a a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Ceramics and a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Psychology from Skidmore College, Phie was able to combine their wide range of interests and explore the overlap between art and mental health.

Biography

Currently, Phie is mostly working with wild clay from the Upstate New York Region, which they have collected and processed by hand, informed by indigenous techniques. Using improvisational methods of creating forms and experimental firing techniques, their work continues to evolve into something unpredictable.
